Correct or remove your data

Updated October 2, 2026

For college athletes and coaching staff members whose roster or staff data appears on Sportis. You don't need an account.

What we show and where it comes from

Everything comes from the universities' official athletics websites — and, in some cases, from their conferences and associations: rosters, coaching staff, results, game statistics and published biographies. We read those pages without logging in, and we don't use photos.

  • Athletes.On each university's public page, the roster appears only as numbers: how many athletes per position and per origin, and how many graduate at the end of the season. No names. To people with a Sportis account, names appear in two places: in each game's highlights, with jersey number, position and the numbers from that game, and in news headlines the university itself publishes, linked to its website. The biography published by the university is not shown: it is used only for indicators about the program as a whole.
  • Coaching staff. On the public page: the name and title of each staff member and, when the university publishes a biography, facts taken from it (years with the program, wins, titles, awards, previous school and education), with a link to the official biography. To people with an account: the work email published by the university, with its source and date, and a daily request limit against spam. Phone numbers and social media are not shown. Sportis does not send emails to coaches: the athlete writes from her or his own email.

How to ask for a correction or removal

Email [email protected] with:

  1. your full name;
  2. the university and the program (for example, “University of Toledo — women's volleyball”);
  3. the link to the Sportis page where the data appears, if you have it;
  4. what to correct or remove;
  5. how we can confirm it's you: write from your university email, or send the link to your page on the official website (roster or coaching staff).

We don't ask for ID documents. Parents or guardians may make the request for athletes under 18. To point out a single wrong detail, you can also use the “Report incorrect info” button at the bottom of the university page.

Coaching staff: stop being contacted through Sportis

You can ask for your email to be taken off the Sportis contact button. After that, people using Sportis no longer see your address on the program page. The address goes on a block list: even if the official website keeps publishing it and the next update brings it back, it does not return to the button.

What happens next

  • We confirm that we received the request and reply within 15 calendar days (Brazil's LGPD, art. 19, II) — or within any shorter period that the law of your country requires.
  • Correction: we fix the data on Sportis. If the error is on the official website, the next update may bring it back; in that case we let you know, and it is worth asking the university to correct it too.
  • Removal, for athletes:we stop showing your name everywhere it appears on Sportis — game highlights and news — and we erase the name from what we store: the roster entry, the box scores and the news items. The stored biography and what we derived from it are deleted too. Your name goes on a block list: if the next update from the official website brings it back, it stays hidden. The team's game numbers remain, without your name.
  • Removal, for coaching staff: your email goes on the block list (see above). Your name and title are removed from Sportis as well; that part does not have an automatic block yet, so if the next update of the official website brings them back, we remove them again and let you know.
  • Encrypted backups may keep the data until they rotate out.
  • If you disagree with our answer, you may complain to a data protection authority: in Brazil, the ANPD; in the European Union, the one in your country; in the United Kingdom, the ICO.

Why we use this data

To help athletes and families understand college programs using data the universities themselves publish. The legal basis is legitimate interest (Brazil's LGPD, art. 7, IX; GDPR, art. 6(1)(f)), and you may object at any time through this same channel. More details in the Privacy Policy.
